On the second Anniversary of serving the people of Nevis, the Nevis Island Administration, led by the Premier of Nevis, the Hon. Joseph Parry, began their celebration with a Church service at the St. George’s Anglican Church on Sunday, July 6th 2008.

The early morning service which was held at the St. George’s Anglican Church in Gingerland, Nevis began with a procession of Clergy and Government Officials.

Words of welcome and introduction came from Dr. Rev. Canon A. B. H. Percival.

The team of Government Officials played a pivotal role in the service, with Premier Parry, the Hon. Robelto Hector and Advisor to the Premier, Mr. Llewellyn Parris, all leading scripture readings.

The service, with its melodious hymnal renditions and encouraging words of faith from the officiating Reverend, set the tone for a week of prayer and thanksgiving for the blessings bestowed on the NRP Government and the people of Nevis over the years.  The congregation was packed with well wishers and other party supporters who came out to celebrate with the Nevis Reformation Party (NRP) led Nevis Island Administration.

The week of celebration continues with the following activities: Thursday, July 10th, 2nd Anniversary Address on Television and Radio by the Premier; Friday, July 11th, Public Meeting at the Villa / Charlestown at 7:30pm; Saturday, July 12th, Community Day/ Fun Day at the Ramsbury Playing Field at 1p.m which includes a 20/20 Cricket Match; and on Sunday, July 13th, a Service of Prayer and Thanksgiving at St. Thomas’ Anglican Church at 4pm followed by a 2nd Anniversary Cocktail party at Rumours at 7p.m.
