Joseph Parry – Premier of Nevis

Premier of Nevis, Hon. Joseph Parry announced that the Nevis Reformation Party (NRP) convention is slated for February 27th, 2011. He made the announcement at the General Council Meeting held on Sunday evening at the Mount Nevis Hotel.
The well attended meeting was chaired by the Legal Adviser in the Nevis Island Administration, Mr. Herman Liburd who got the delegates of the various constituencies ready for the upcoming Local election.
A question and answer period was facilitated between the constituents and the candidates and brief remarks was made by the Deputy Premier of Nevis and St. Johns candidate – Hon. Hensley Daniel who discussed his Ministry’s achievements in social development, programs and projects done among young people and senior citizens.
Advisor to Health and candidate in St. George’s Parish – Mrs. Patsy Hanley discussed her work to get the Gingerland Police Station started and her work done in health among the residents of St. Georges Parish . She was also able to confirm that the Aman Hotel would be in Hanley’s Road shortly.
The Attorney General and St. James Parish candidate, Hon. Patrice Nisbett stated that he played a pivotal role in gaining the re-opening of the Four Seasons Resort, Laptops for school children and the passing of the Bill to get Corporations who do business in Nevis to pay their taxes to Nevis.
Minister of Communications and Works, Hon. Carlisle Powell reminded the receptive crowd that the NRP had built roads, made quality affordable housing available, assisted over 150 students with gaining university education and while the region had experienced drought and water was scarce, Nevis had over 1 million gallons of water daily. The Minister concluded, “The NRP has performed for the people of Nevis and Performance Matters!”
