New High Tech Game Clock To Be Unveiled
“Basketball is back!” This has been the sentiment of local basketball fans after last years exciting season-ending finals series and subsequent weekend tour of the Dominica National Team.
The SKABA executive will continue that resurgence of basketball with their anxiously anticipated start to the 2012 season.
The 2012 season begins this Sunday April 1st with the traditional March Pass of teams and clubs at Basketball City. The march past and official opening ceremony begins at 4:00pm.
All SKABA registered teams will assemble at basketball city, Victoria Road as a march past and presentation of the 2012 teams will take place.
Among the activities scheduled to take place at the opening ceremony is the honoring of SKABA Legends and Personalities who have contributed to the development of the association over the years as players, coaches, administrators and sponsors. The highlight, however of the opening ceremony will be the unveiling of a brand new massive 6 feet by 6 feet game clock and score board which was procured with the assistance of The National Olympic committee. The modern state of the art Eversan Brand game clock will be presented to fans, teams and spectators in a brief unveiling ceremony featuring a representative of the National Olympic Committee . The clock will be SKABA’s first new clock since the early 1990’s.
Immediately following the opening ceremony two exciting match ups for the evening will commence. In Game 1 2011 “A” Division Champions Challengers Exodus will rumble with 19 times champions the RAMS Hitters. In Game 2, reigning SKABA Champions Ghaut Bucs will tangle with 2011 Regular Season Champions the Fig Tree Dirt Revellers. The Games are scheduled to start at 6:30pm and the admission is EC$5.00
