The St. Kitts and Nevis Cabinet has announced a number of diplomatic appointments.
Cabinet, which met Monday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas, approved the recommendations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Minister of State for Information, Sen. the Hon. Nigel Carty said Dr. Caroline Lawrence is the new Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Norway to the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis. Dr Lawrence is a medical doctor who practices in Internal Medicine and Cardiology and replaces Mr. Collin Mallalieu.
“The Government wishes to thank Mr. Mallalieu for having made significant contributions to the development of the Federation as Honorary Consul of Norway over the last several years,” said Minister Carty.
Local businessman Mr. Reginald Amory has been approved to serve as Honorary Consul of Austria to the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis. Mr. Amory has served as Honorary Vice-Consul of Austria since 2003 and the Government has expressed thanks to Mr. Amory for his sterling contribution to the development of the country in his former consular position.
Mr. Steve Wrensford, Deputy Director of Social Security, has been approved to serve as the Federation’s new Ambassador to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.
Mr. Wrensford is also a small businessman and has served his country with distinction.
“On the occasion of this new appointment, Government wishes to thank the wife and family of the late Ambassador His Excellency Mr. Fred Lam for their understanding and sacrifice as Mr. Lam served this country as a distinguished Ambassador to Venezuela and Trinidad and Tobago for many years before his passing late last year,” said Minister Carty.
