BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, NOVEMBER 17TH 2006 (CUOPM)
Another first for the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport.
It will be history in the making when a Virgin Atlantic 747 aircraft touches down next week Friday with 300 passengers to attend the 3rd Caribbean Poker Classic at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort.
Well-informed sources told the Communications Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister that Virgin Atlantic will leave London and stop in Antigua before flying on to St. Kitts with the 300 players for the Caribbean Poker Classic which runs from November 24th to December 3rd. The winner stands a chance of winning US$1.5 million.
Last year’s Caribbean Poker Classic in St. Kitts also featured the world’s first underwater poker championship.
The St. Kitts Marriott Resort is ideally located along the Atlantic coast and just 10 minutes from the delightful capital city of Basseterre, the resort features more than 600 oversized, deluxe guest rooms with spectacular views.
Amenities include three swimming pools, a swimming area with a natural reef, a 40,000 square-foot casino, a 15,000 square-foot full service spa/health club, six restaurants, two lounges, a night club, and an 18-hole championship golf course.
