The latest crop of Young PAMITES made their public debut this past Sunday at PAM Headquarters, as part of the People’s Action Movement “On the Road to Victory” Special Convention.  The enthusiasm and intelligence of PAM youth  were demonstrated in a spectacular and exciting 15 minute presentation, titled a “A Golden Future with PAM”. The pamites featured onstage included  Cheraina Warner, Kevaughn Browne, Akila Browne,Taturah Byron and Dion Browne, all students of the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College.

The well-received presentation included a series of dramatic monologues and a theatrical poem culminating in an impressive video presentation. The Young PAMITES highlighted the major issues that are particular hardships for the young people of today, in the original and thought-provoking presentation. They expressed their concerns about crime, education, land, unemployment and electricity in humorous yet heart-rending ways, motivating unrestricted audience interaction and participation. The very appreciative crowd of hundreds in attendance gave the student PAMITES a minute-long standing ovation with calls for an encore performance.
“It was truly a memorable , thought-provoking and impactful presentation by the young people,” said the Hon. Shawn K. Richards deputy political leader of the People’s Action Movement. ” The newest PAMITES, all hailing from the CFB College, are further testament to the vibrancy of the party’s youth and their commitment to purposeful youth development in the nation as a whole,” Richards continued.

The group of students all of whom attend  the CFB College have come together to form another sub-group of the National Young Pamites. The People’s Action Movement Young Pamites comprises the National Group along with several sub-groups including the Pamites groups from Constituencies #1 thru to Constituency #8, the Young Energized Core, Youths 4 Change and now the most recent group of CFBC students.

“The plethora of groups and sub-groups of our youth arm the young pamites shows the dynamisn,enthusiasm  and vibrancy of our youths ,” said Ronald “Louie” Williams PAM candidate for constituency #7. ” At 37 Just a few years removed, myself, according to Uniter Nations standards, from being a youth i can relate to the concerns and issues that  are plaguing our youths and these concerns and issues are what in my view has generated and motivated such a great interest and  vibrancy in the party’s youth arm the Young Pamites,” Williams continued.

According to one of the coordinators of the group, Ms. Cheraina Warner,  the reigning  HAYNES SMITH Miss Caribbean Talented Teen Queen,  the group will be embarking on a number of dynamic youth development projects which are in line with the philosophy of youth empowerment and advancement of the People’s Action Movement .
The group’s next major activity is a fund-raising social event  dubbed SOLID GOLD FETE 2K9 which is a  collaboration with Glenroy Blanchette’s very vibrant  East Basseterre Young  PAMITES . The event takes place on Saturday, November 7th at the Bingo’s Bar on Wellington Rd. and will feature radio personality Sister Sensia, the popular Evolution Sound and Konexion Band of Newtown.

The official National Young PAMITES with the addition of the most recent scores of new members from the CFBC now boasts  well over 70 official  and hundreds of unofficial members  and counting. The National Young Pamites group meets weekly at the Party Headquarters while the several sub-national or constituency young pamite groups meet bi-weekly at the various contituency offices.
